Julian Fielden, Managing Director

 Drawing on over twenty-years of business and accounting experience, Julian is Managing Director of  OCF plc.  Responsible for the strategic direction of the business and its day-to-day operations,  Julian oversees all customer accounts and relationships with key technology partners including  IBM, Fakespace, Voltaire, Intel and AMD. Julian was responsible for establishing OCF plc in January 2002, purchasing the business and assets of OCF Limited in a management buy-out. 
 Julian is a Chartered Accountant, having trained with Ernst & Young in Leeds, UK.  After a brief spell working for Ernst & Young in South Africa, Julian returned to the UK becoming a partner in a  Leeds-based accountancy firm.  Julian left the accountancy profession in 1990, joining an  Industrial group as Group Financial Director. During his 6 years there he experienced a broad range of corporate activity including acquisitions, disposals, company reorganisation and company flotation. Julian then entered the world of IT in 1996 joining a predecessor firm of OCF plc, Open Computers and Finance. Julian is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accounts (FCA) and member of the Institute of Directors (IoD).  He has a degree in Economics from Swansea University.  

Steve Reynolds, Sales Director

 Responsible for overseeing all  customer accounts and sales, Steve currently manages a team of  eight salespeople.   Steve’s  career started with the Royal Air Force (RAF) in 1981, followed by  positions with British  Aerospace (BAe) and finally with computer firm, Pericom. Continuing the  OCF trend of mixing  technology know-how with sales experience and creativity, Steve has used  this to win a number of  notable customers, including AstraZeneca which led to OCF’s successful  and ongoing partnership with IT giant, IBM. Steve has a Higher National Diploma (HND) in  Electronics and Radar.  He is also an IBM Certified Specialist - Open Systems Storage Solutions, IBM Certified Specialist - IBM System p Solution Sales and IBM Certified Specialist - System x Sales.

Russell Slack, Operations Director

Working for OCF plc since 2002 and with its predecessor firm since December 1995; Russell is Operations Director. Responsible for a team of 8 HPC and Storage specialists along with the Operations and Project Management teams, Russell has worked his way up from Trainee Engineer, UNIX System Engineer, Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager with OCF plc. 
Russell oversees every part of customers’ installations which includes: coordinating delivery of customers’ orders to OCF for pre-installation quality testing purposes; investigating the most effective way of implementing solutions; coordinating the delivery and managing the installation of solutions at customers’ sites and the creation and agreement of Statements of Work and bespoke SLA contracts to ensure that the scope of work is clearly understood by all parties and on-going support packages are tailored to the customers’ needs. Russell joined OCF directly from Sheffield College where he gained a Diploma in Computer Studies. He is a certified PRINCE2 Project Management practitioner, IBM certified solution architect for cloud computing infrastructure V1, ITIL v3 certified, holds Linux technical certification from the Linux Professional Institute (LPI), and IBM professional certification (IBM Certified Systems Expert - System X and System P and IBM Enterprise Technical Support AIX 5L V5.3) together with a whole host of qualifications on various other UNIX platforms.
