Mercedes-Benz High Performance Engines Ltd were looking to upgrade their existing CAE Server set up with both Compute Power and Storage Capacity

OCF were engaged to investigate the most cost effective way of achieving this with regards to both budget and performance. After auditing the existing system setup which consisted of an IBM P650 and DS4400 Disk subsystem, OCF proposed an upgrade to the existing Fibre Disk Array by an additional 2.4TB using an IBM EXP700 and an IBM P550 Server to add the additional processor power that was required

OCF also recommended upgrading the direct attached Storage to integrate it within a SAN, resulting in high levels of resilience for the mission critical system. This resilience was increased further by upgrading the mirror site to the same level - resulting in an extremely robust highly available system
