Sheffield 10K Corporate Challenge

This year, OCF has decided to get a team together to run a 10K in Sheffield. This all started from the success of myself taking on the challenge of the Sheffield 10K in September 2017 and in sharing my experiences with the OCF it was clear that others were interested in doing something similar.  The initial response from was quite impressive, and we managed to sign up 13 people to run the event and as a group we elected to run it as a Corporate Challenge.

The corporate challenge consists of other teams that are participating from various companies in and around Sheffield. We will therefore be competing with these companies, and the fastest 3x runners in each company are counted towards crowning the Corporate Challenge winners. We hope we have the right calibre of runners that can achieve this!

Running can be a great challenge for new starters, so as part of positive encouragement to our team we have suggested various training plans and ways to prepare for the event. Looking at the success over the last 6 months, we have at least one team member who has successfully used the couch to 5k program, and then moved onto the 10k training plan, so we know these are work very well and we’re looking forward to the main event.

Our ultimate goal would be to get more OCFers and their friends/family onto the road to fitness, as we know this can help improve the body as well as the mind, which benefits everyone who has a busy and hectic work and personal life.

As part of the challenge, we have also decided to support a local charity in Sheffield, and we chose to raise funds for “The Children’s Hospital Charity”. This Charity have done wonders for so many children over the years by providing fantastic care and nursing. There are at least 2 employees in the company who could tell their own stories on the fantastic support that the Hospital gave for them as well as their child. So please support us to during our challenge and help to and raise funds for a charity that has done so much for our children, by clicking on the link

Thanks for your support, and please share and care, and if you can make it to Sheffield on Sunday 23rd September 2018, please come and cheer us on.
